Everything Flows

 

Lately, Heraclitus’ idea that “everything flows” has started to feel surprisingly close to Montaigne.

The world keeps changing.
Our bodies, emotions, beliefs, relationships, and societies all change.

And so do we.

What feels true today may feel different ten years from now. That is why Montaigne’s question feels so powerful:

“What do I know?”

It is not a declaration of ignorance. It is a reminder not to cling too tightly to certainty.

Life may not be about building a fixed, finished self.

Maybe it is about learning to live while changing.

Youth is good.
Old age is good.
Beginnings are good.
Endings are good.

Like Zhuangzi, we can see change not as a failure of stability, but as the natural movement of life.

Existence is not fixed. It is transition.
Life is not completion. It is change itself.
